Additional reading from Internet.

Lance Armstrong was stripped of his titles in 2012 after being found guilty of systematic doping by the International Cycling Union. Last year, he admitted to using the banned substance erythropoietin (EPO), as well as the so-called blood doping. EPO visits the blood with oxygen, therefore, increases the ability of the body, so to speak, to increase the force. Blood doping is when you donate your own blood before a race to increase your erythrocyte levels, and then inject it back into your body later. Blood doping is difficult to detect because it involves using your own blood for transfusions. Armstrong defended himself  by saying that he had been tested more than 200 times during the race, and he had never been caught. Two years later, (2014) Armstrong’s titles were stripped.

I.I- My name is  ImmaculadaFiguera, I am a chemist in The Anti-Doping Control Laboratory at Barcelona’s Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM) is a world-recognized facility performing dope testing of athletes for national and international sporting events, and was an early adopter of LGC Standards LoGiCal range of reference materials.  Our laboratory explains: “We test around 4,000 sportsmen a year from sporting events around the world, screening urine, blood and serum samples for controlled substances. We perform a wide range of gas and liquid chromatography-based protocols, and use LoGiCal reference standards for both qualitative and quantitative analyses.”

The essence of anti-doping is a long-term race between people who want to cheat in any sport.

Values of theprogram“Birtutas
